Job description
The IO Foundation is seeking dedicated volunteers worldwide to assist with our IT needs, including networking, virtual private servers (VPS), general infrastructure support and task automation/orchestration among others. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to apply their technical expertise in technology-driven nonprofit, while gaining valuable experience and making a meaningful contribution to a larger mission.
IMPORTANT: This opening is not a paid position. In accordance with Estonian Law and The IO Foundation's policies, volunteers can not be remunerated.

Responsibilities
Depending on the Focus Area of preference, the responsibilities may range from
Assist in the setup, configuration and maintenance of networking equipment and infrastructure
Support the management of VPS and cloud services, ensuring optimal performance and uptime
Collaborate with team members to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise, providing timely support to staff and volunteers
Document processes, configurations and issues to build a comprehensive knowledge base
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving IT services within the organization
Qualifications | Requirements
Preferably, at least 3 years of experience in the focus area of interest
Able to commit to deliverables
Strong knowledge of system administration for Linux and Windows environments
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Passion for and commitment to The IO Foundation's mission and values
Previous experience in nonprofit or volunteer work is a plus but not required
Qualifications | Languages
English fluent both oral and written
Other languages will be a plus, in particular Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, French and Spanish
Other considerations
Able to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to travel locally and internationally, if needed.
