Job description
The IO Foundation, a tech NGO, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Developer to join our team. As a Business Developer, you will play a crucial role in driving growth and generating revenue for our organization. You will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with clients and partners and helping to secure funding for our projects and initiatives.
Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new business opportunities (including partnerships, collaborations and funding opportunities) through research, networking, and outreach efforts
Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders
Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue and support the growth of the organization
Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential areas for growth and development
Collaborate with team members to develop and implement business development strategies
Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for potential partners and funders
Track and analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform business development strategies
Participate in conferences, events as well as other networking opportunities to represent The IO Foundation in order to promote the organization's mission, build relationships and explore business opportunities
Qualifications | Requirements
Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field - OR - Equivalent experience
Preferably, at least 3 years of experience in business development, sales or a similar role
Proven track record of successfully identifying and pursuing business opportunities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with different stakeholders
Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
Knowledge and understanding of the tech industry and of the non-profit/NGO sector
Passion for and commitment to The IO Foundation's mission and values
Qualifications | Languages
English fluent both oral and written
Other languages will be a plus, in particular Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, French and Spanish

Able to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to travel locally and internationally, if needed.

Contractual terms
TIOF Member type: Contractor
Time commitment: Full time
Base salary: USD 2000 / month
Extras: Commissions based on revenue volume
Contract length: 12 months, renewable (2 months probation)
Working location: Own desk @ TIOF's office (Co-labs The Starling+, Selangor, Malaysia)
